Currently priced at $119.41, the Western Digital 1TB SN850 NVMe SSD with heatsink is a solid deal among high-performance SSDs. This price reflects a competitive position in the market, especially for a Gen4 PCIe drive. Depending on the original MSRP, this could represent significant savings, but potential buyers should act relatively quickly as prices can fluctuate.
The SN850 is targeted at gamers and content creators who demand high speeds for tasks such as loading games or transferring large files. Its M.2 2280 form factor and PCIe 4.0 capability enable impressive read and write speeds, making it a strong contender compared to other SSDs in the price range. When stacked against alternatives like the Samsung 980 Pro or the Sabrent Rocket, the SN850 tends to offer good thermal management thanks to its built-in heatsink, which is especially useful for sustained performance under heavy loads.
Pros
- High-speed performance suitable for gaming and content creation
- Built-in heatsink for better thermal management
- Gen4 PCIe interface for faster data transfer speeds
Cons
- May be overkill for basic users who don't need top speeds
- Limited availability may require quick purchasing decisions
